25 Jan 2010 I bought a 2005 raptor 660r. It starts great The instant i let off the throttle and try to give it more throttle it cuts out to the point of almost stalling.

I've over adjusted to near zero free play and it still doesn't release enough to idle without stalling or creeping forward with a little throttle to keep from stalling. I replaced the cable as I thought it might be stretched, new stock cable, didn't resolve the problem.

I removed, cleaned, and reinstalled the carbs and it still does the same thing Hey, common issue. I ride a 03 raptor 660. 1. make sure your parking brake is off when revving. there is a rev limiter. 2. ensure the carbs are clean and your floats are set.

tryed boosting and nothing just a louder clicking sound. I pull started with truck and fired up fast so motors good too.. wires are all tight. tryed my relay in my friends 660 and starts his machine fine.what else can be my problem here. please help and thx. Someone has messed with the wiring for the cooling fan and the temp sensor and ran a toggle switch so they could turn the fan on and off manually. I don’t like that so I’m trying to put it back to factory but the spliced wires together and now I don’t know what wire goes to what.

Re: raptor 660 idles but no throtle response. Turn off the gas and remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ). Get a set of the stock NGK spark plugs your bike came with.
